IIT Roorkee launches SPARK internship Program

IIT Roorkee launches SPARK internship Program :-for the year 2023. The internship aims to attract and nurture talented under-graduated students from across the country.

The selected students will work on cutting edge research topics with faculty members from 26 academic departments and centers, which include the latest establishment Mehta Family School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

The institute is offering 25 UG and 10 PG internships for students from institutes within the 200 Km range under the SPARK program. This decision was taken as a part of IIT Roorkee’s 175th Anniversary.

To apply, the applicants have to login and submit their applications through an online portal. They will have to upload their last semester mark-sheet of current degree, photograph, a 500-word research statement, and a brief 1-2 page resume. For students from other institutes, the submission of No Objection Certificate (NOC) is mandatory. They will also have to mention a list of 5 faculty members under whom they would like to do the summer intern.

Students who are currently enrolled and have completed
at least two semesters of the undergraduate degree
(B.Arch./B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc/MA) in a relevant discipline
from any institute in India.

Following minimum CGPA criterion will apply:

CGPA > 7.5 for IITs/IISc.
CGPA > 8.0 for NITs/ IISERs/ NISER/IIEST/UM-DAECBS.
CGPA > 8.5 for students of other institutes

The stipend for the internship is and the duration of the internship will be 6-8 weeks with a maximum duration for the UG internships is 6 weeks whereas for the PG internships will be 6 months. The eligibility criteria includes the students who have enrolled and completed at least two semesters of the undergraduate degree (BArch/BE/B.Tech/MSc/MA) in a relevant discipline from any institute of the country.
